Shame keeps us safe and captive. Self-trust keeps us safe and free.

Are you a people-pleaser or perfectionist tired of living under paralyzing pressure to not let others or yourself down?

You’re in good company.

You’re in the right place.

I’ve got you.

Do You Struggle with People-Pleasing or Perfectionism?

If you’re a people-pleaser or perfectionist, you deeply feel constant pressure to meet others' expectations and maintain any control over your life. This can leave you feeling drained, overwhelmed, and disconnected from your authentic self. Here's how these challenges often show up:

People-Pleasers Struggle With:

  • Saying No: Do you have difficulty boundaries and often overcommitting to avoid disappointing others?

  • Fear of Conflict: Do you suppress your own needs to keep the peace, even at your own expense?

  • Overwhelm: Do you feel responsible for everyone’s happiness and then feel resentment towards others later?

  • Authenticity: Do you struggle to express your true feelings and desires, focusing more on what others want?

  • Guilt: Do you feel anxious or guilty when you assert yourself or set necessary boundaries?

  • Lack of Self-Care: Do you neglect your own needs in favor of others and feel emotional or physical exhaustion?

Perfectionists Struggle With:

  • Unrealistic Standards: Do you set unattainable goals for yourself and often feel frustrated or inadequate?

  • Fear of Failure: Do you avoid mistakes at all costs and then procrastinate, over-prepare, or avoid?

  • Chronic Self-Criticism: Do you judge yourself for small mistakes? Do those mistakes feel huge and unrecoverable?

  • Overthinking: Do you over-analyze and over-plan? Is analysis paralysis frequent?

  • All-or-Nothing Thinking: Do you see things in black-and-white terms, believing that anything less than perfect is a failure?

  • Imposter Syndrome: Do you feel like a fraud despite your successes? Do you feel like you don’t deserve recognition?

What They Have in Common:

Both people-pleasers and perfectionists struggle with:

  • Difficulty Being Authentic: Both suppress their true selves—people-pleasers to avoid conflict and perfectionists to maintain an ideal image.

  • Fear of Rejection or Disapproval: Both are afraid of judgment, from others or themselves.

  • Ruthless Inner Critic: Both tend to focus on their flaws and shortcomings, crushing their self-esteem.

  • Difficulty Setting Boundaries: Both struggle to prioritize their own needs, leading to exhaustion and resentment.

  • Overwhelm and Burnout: Both are at risk of burnout from overextending themselves—people-pleasers by trying to please everyone and perfectionists by endlessly striving.

  • Stress: Both are driven by fear—people-pleasers fear rejection, while perfectionists fear failure

  • Difficulty Enjoying Achievements: Both have a hard time savoring success, either due to a focus on others' approval (people-pleasers) or fear of not meeting their own standards (perfectionists).

A little more about me…

As the youngest of 4 daughters, a lot of the oldest-child stereotypes restarted with me. I learned as a little girl that being pleasing kept me in right-standing in my closest relationships. I learned to read the room, shape-shift to the needs of others, and ignore my instincts. Be right. Be good. Be pleasing. Behave.

As I grew, I started to see the impact this was having on my sense of self. The more I forced my adult self into the “good girl,” the less authentic I felt. I would second guess myself, defer to others wants or needs, and worry about being misunderstood. I felt caged, my voice silent, and my likes and dislikes were unknown to even me.

I wanted desperately to expand into my full self, but was fearful that if I showed the world who I really was, that I would be rejected.

That perfect, people-pleaser girl in me rests so much easier now. It will in you too.

My Coaching Fundamentals

Self-Trust

Adult self-trust brings you back to your inner authority, reconnecting you with your body's signals and rebuilding a trusting relationship with yourself. This self-trust empowers you to reach for your goals with confidence.

The aim here is to build trust in yourself. Even when it does not make sense. Maybe especially when it does not make sense.

Strategy

Each coaching step is purposeful, powerful, and transformative. It reconnects you with forgotten dreams, releases unhelpful fears, propels you towards unmet goals, liberates you from limiting relationships, and much more.

No cookie-cutter approaches or clichés. It's all about crafting an individualized strategic plan that truly serves your needs.

Should Shedding

Our work together liberates you from the burdens of societal expectations. You gave up belonging to yourself a long time ago for the validation and love of others. We unearth the authentic version of you and set that untamed Self free.

The goal here is to throw out the rule book, set yourself free. It's a journey back to your essence, a homecoming.

Transform your relationship with yourself & others: Embrace the truest, most authentic version of YOU.

Imagine waking up every day with a renewed sense of confidence, knowing that you’re living life on your terms. When you work with me as your life coach, you’ll experience a profound transformation that allows you to break free from the constant pressure to please others and the need to be perfect. Together, we’ll help you embrace your authentic self and create a life that’s balanced, fulfilled, and truly your own.

Here’s what you can expect from our work together:

  • Less Obligations, More Realness: You’ll be able to make decisions based on your own needs and desires, not just to keep others happy. Your real “yes,” and real “no.”

  • More Authentic Relationships: You'll engage with others from a place of honesty, not fear. Your relationships will become more genuine, fulfilling, and aligned with your true self.

  • Clarity on Your Values: You'll gain a clearer understanding of what truly matters to you, allowing you to make choices that reflect your core values.

  • Make Choices That Feel Aligned: With confidence and clarity, you'll begin making decisions that are in line with your authentic desires, not on others’ expectations.

  • Communicate Effectively: You'll develop the tools to express your thoughts and feelings honestly, helping you navigate difficult conversations with confidence and clarity.

  • Set Guilt-Free Boundaries: Say goodbye to guilt when saying "no." You’ll learn to maintain healthy boundaries that protect your time, energy, and well-being.

  • Less Stress and More Control: As you free yourself from the need to please or be perfect, your stress will diminish. You’ll feel less overwhelmed by external pressures.

  • Celebrate Your Achievements: You’ll start embracing your successes, big and small, without brushing them off or feeling undeserving.

  • Value Your Needs: You’ll learn to value your own needs, realizing that caring for yourself is just as important as caring for others.

  • Tell the Truth: No more hiding parts of yourself. You’ll learn to share your true thoughts and feelings, creating deeper connections and reducing the worry of being misunderstood.

  • Cultivate Self-Compassion: You'll learn to be kind to yourself, letting go of self-criticism and embracing the humbling reality that imperfection is human.

  • Reconnect with Curiosity: You’ll become more open to new experiences, learning to approach life with curiosity.

  • Share Vulnerabilities Without Shame: You’ll feel empowered to express your vulnerabilities and imperfections without fear of judgment. You’ll also learn to discern safe places to share and where to hold back, giving you more control.

  • Feel more Resilience: You'll develop the resilience needed to bounce back from challenges, empowered by a renewed sense of Self.

If you're ready to leave behind the stress of perfectionism and people-pleasing, I’m here to guide you through the process of reclaiming your power, your peace, and your authenticity. Together, we’ll create lasting change that allows you to live a life that’s true to you.

Your journey to a empowered, self-compassionate, and resilient life starts now.

FAQs

  • Therapy explores past experiences and traumas shaping our beliefs, while coaching focuses on the present and future, helping you overcome obstacles and pursue the life you crave. If you're in pain or processing trauma, therapy is recommended. For pursuing goals, shifting relationships, finding your voice, adjusting mindset, or realigning with yourself, life coaching is for you.

  • This is highly personalized and could include career shifts, communication goals, relationship aspirations, life transitions (e.g. divorce or job loss), self-talk improvement, skill acquisition (e.g., learning an instrument), habit-breaking, physical activity goals, boundary-setting, confidence-building, chronic indecision, and more.

  • That's completely fine. Trust that your body and mind are signaling a need for support. Simply getting on a call together to explore further can be a first step. We'll delve into it together before you decide on a full coaching series.

  • All coaching sessions are conducted online, accommodating any location or time zone.

  • Yes! If you wish to continue our work together at the conclusion of your coaching series, please let me know.
